I am not the most hands on person in the world, I am a computer software professional, and at best am ok at building things. So, I was very impress to discover that building renewable energy devices was not that difficult at all.  I am sure my creation could be improved upon, but at the end of the day it suits my needs and WORKS!

I have been interested in renewable energy for a while now.  My aim one day is to have a small cottage that runs 100% off renewable energy  I would ultimately like to setup a wind generator, some solar panels and a battery bank to collect excess energy.

I felt like a young child when I started this, as its a thrill to create something that works is indescribable.  When I started, one of my main objectives was to save on my energy bill, but that quickly became secondary when I got started.  The reduction in my energy bill is now like a bonus rather than a prime objective.
